Film: how you want it, where you want it, when you want it

Daryl Hannah to star in Kill Bill 3

03 February 2010: But we saw her character die in Kill Bill 2. Or did we?

Daryl Hannah's character Elle Driver could be back in the third Kill Bill film, the 50-year-old actress said today.

After talking to Film24 about her latest film, A Closed Book, the star confirmed there would be a third film and even more surprisingly that she'd be in it.

"He always meant it as a trilogy," she said.

In Kill Bill 2 her character was left blind and stuck in a room with a poisonous snake, and it seemed that Elle Driver was the latest victim of Uma Thurman's The Bride.  But in fact we never saw her demise.

"Think about it. There's always been a tradition of blind Samurais and you never actually saw her expire in the other film," she said.

Quentin Tarantino loves to drop hints and he's been hinting about a third Kill Bill for a while.  What it's about, who will be in it and even the name are still unlcear - it couldn't really be called Kill Bill since, well, she did.

But with news that the character of Driver is back it could be a revenge killing from the blind Samurai called say: Kill The Bride. Or perhaps we'll see the innocent looking daughter, all grown up, following in the footsteps of her sword-wielding parents.  Whatever the story, the third instalment is due for release in 2014,  10 years after Kill Bill 2.
