One year after the first movie Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad and Taylor wave good bye to the classroom and take part in a talent contest during the summer vacation. Troy finds employment at the Lava Springs Country Club, and even manages to get all his friends a job too! When the club announces its Talent Show, Troy and Gabriella seem certain to win. But Sharpay has other ideas; after her bitter defeat last year, she has no intention of losing a second time.
